Coinbase Releases Statement To Quell ‘Ripple (XRP) to Coinbase’ Rumors

Rumors have been circulating for months that Coinbase would add several new cryptocurrencies in 2018 ever since Coinbase co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong made the claim on CNBC.

However Coinbase/GDAX announced on Thursday via a blog post that they will not be adding any new currencies at the alleged time.

“As of the date of this statement, we have made no decision to add additional assets to either GDAX or Coinbase. Any statement to the contrary is untrue and not authorized by the company.”

While the statement attempts to brush off the speculation that Ripple (XRP) might be added to Coinbase in January 2018, the Coinbase statement does not specifically say that Ripple (XRP) won’t be added to Coinbase this year (like some news sources might lead you to believe).
